So, we have a few problems. One of which we just handily solved.
Yay. Now we just need far more money than we have or are likely to have in the near future.
On the other hand, only I got promoted. Sigh.
But what a promotion. I really want suppressing fire. Also +7 will and +6 Aim on level up. Also +1 Health, like a sensible person.
But that’s a colonel level support ability. Tough call. I go for the probably worse healtkit upgrade in the hopes that I’ll see rifle suppression farther up the tree.
Oh good, another medal to hand out.
And enough corpses for several parties.
That sure is a funny way of spelling Dave.
And look. we’re still screwed. Except even more so.
Dave gets a nice XCOM hat in recognition of being better than all of us. Also he has a weird upgrade tree for an assault.
I’m not usually a fan of this ability anyway, so extra grenades it is.
Oh wow. I really want this. Sure Dave secretly wants to be a medic, but three medikit uses is just plain good.
But this. THIS is going to save lives. It’s gotten a buff since EU, and now it would be a hard choice between it and lightning reflexes. Luckily I am saved agonizing by random skill trees!
This was an agonizing decision. We needed to take a 150 credit state, and this was probably the wrong move long term. Germany was probably a better bet, but additional interceptors cost money.
At least we managed to make it a month without losing someone.
Need a thermo generator so we can power more than the next building.
We need this so we can launch more satellites.
Also more satellites. We still need to purchase 2 more in the next 11 days.
And oh look at that we’re broke again. Damnit. And we still need an OTS, and the two new buildings, which will also cost untold amounts of money.
It’s interesting to look how this game is playing out in comparison to the last one. We’ve diverged pretty heavily already, time will tell if its for the worse.
We had carapace armor and captured the outsider when we assaulted the second UFO previously. We’re not doing quite that well.
But we have medals!
Why wont you people get promoted!
Oh yay. A forest.
A flipping enormous forest at night. Stellar.
New month means new units. New Expansion means even newer units. I think these are called seekers.
Kaitlin nails one with a reaction shot, so they shouldn’t be too bad.
Oh. Stealth floating tentacle monsters. Fantastic. Because normal floating tentacle monsters were just so passe.
No matter. Explosives will solve this problem.
Maybe the damage indicators are stealthed too? Bah. They must have moved after stealthing. Well.
Well, if they have to destealth to attack, this problem will be solved by careful play.
So now Dan is being strangled by the floating tentacle monster currently sitting on his face. Lovely.
Just, y’know, aim high.
Not that high!
Maybe a machine gun was not the precision gunfire we required in this situation. Greg takes care of it.
XCOM One Damage Count: 3. Also Dan effectively can’t move this turn as an added bonus.
Oh hey look it’s the other one. So surprising!
Kyle doesn’t daka hard enough to prevent Greg from getting grabbed.
No hurry, Oxygen isn’t that important.
Whelp, guess someone’s going to have to move out of position to rescue Greg.
And then Kyle soon after because he’s out of ammo after this shot.
Never mind, we’re good.
Lost the meld though.
My hopes are not particularly high for this shot.
XCOM One Damage Count: 4. That seems about right.
There is between lousy and no cover to maneuver in, so potshot time.
Well, no one else has an angle, so moment of truth.
Does a stormtooper marksmanship academy dropout have better or worse aim than a graduate? We may have to adjust our hiring policies.
Occasionally, these hit.
And occasionally you take a chunk out of the universe with your fire. Damage roulette at its finest.
Its a sad day when you’re contemplating just using a rocket to finish off a sectoid slightly faster.
Mind you with damage roulette, every day is that day, because fixed damage is amazing. Guns are not.
Greg’s high aim really shines through here.
But a 44 is still a 44.
I’d love it if XCOM kept personal soldier stats.
Like your made shots percentage.
Well, we’ve got variety now. Three thin men.
One thin man really.
Dan escapes potential death.
Will 30 be the new 64?
32 is like half 64.
The camera glitched out, so I didn’t see how much it did, but it was more than 5. We missed both meld containers :(
There we go. Finally.
Next time. Promotions and even more spending money we don’t have.
